a few questions about wiring and such
I need to make a 2 ohm load or more with a set of tweeters and 5.25s in one channel. each speaker is 4 ohm. i know about subwoofer wiring with dvcs but i'm not good with svcs and series.
Also, i need to know what this device may be and where i could go about getting it. heres the description: Converts 110 vac to 12v and has a positive and a negative. Kind of like a battery charger but puts out a constant voltage to run things in a home that are made for car audio.
EDIT: I looked it up and i will have to do it in 4 ohms, that question is solved but i need an answer for the other question
Re: a few questions about wiring and such
To answer you second question the problem isn't changing from 120v ac to 12v dc but your problem is finding the current (amperes) to run the things. Your standard car battery charger gives you 2 - 6 amps. While most car radios use about that much or more. And you might as well forget about trying to run an amp. I was wondering the same thing without having to go out and spend a fortune. Personally i just have a gel cell battery, a CAP, and a battery charger hooked up in my room. It works fine just probably a fire hazard.
Re: a few questions about wiring and such
I need power for a HU and a jbl 80.4 (320 watts). about how many amperes would this be? I have a battery charger that puts out a 2 amp trickle charge and a 60 amp fast charge i think, ill have to check on it. i might just buy one according to what i need.
also, how good are gel cell batteries? are they good for recharging over and over?
