How do i install this stuff?

I am planning on having a 2 amp system. One amp for a pair of 6.5's, a pair of 6x9's, and then an 8" re Mid driver. The second amp will be mono for my sub. My HU is a Pioneer 6500. I take the front pre-out to the 5 channel amp correct? And then take the rear pre-out to the mono amp?

Also, when i had my old system hooked up, i had a 3 amp system. I had one amp for the front speakers, one amp for the rear speakers, and then 1 amp for my sub. I took the front rca pre-out to the front speaker amp, rear pre-out to rear amp speaker, and then i took a patch cable from the rear amp output, to the input of the sub amp. My CD player didnt recognize all the speaker being there. Why did this happen?

I feel really stupid asking this stuff cuz they are basic questions...lol. But i have been away from car stereo for about 6 months now and i have lost like all of my audio knowledge

well to the first question, the speaker amp is getting the rear speaker out on the Hu, and the amp controlling the mono control gets the sub out/nonfading...

second question, i dunno.. doesnt make tons of sense it didn recongnize any of the speakers, i could kinda understand *** not seeing the sub though..

hopefully i read this right, if not jst reexplain it, or wask wahtever questions u got..

Both front and rear preouts go to the 5 channel amp. The 5th channel is usually mono for subs, and may not have bandpass for midbass... check the amp specs.

If the 5 ch has a nonfading preout on it, you can feed that into the sub amp. Else, use a Y cable from the rear preouts and feed both amps with it.

you have the same headunit as i do, and i just bought two re8s as well. the head unit has three rca out front rear and non fading. take the front and rear to the one amp and the non fading to the sub amp. im curious as to how this will sound.
