    Take a 1/2 watt 1 megaohm resistor and charge with that. Just wire the resistor inline on the positive side of your charging supply. When you voltmeter reads the same voltage as you charging supply your done. Probably more resitance than you need but it will work nonethe less.

    Hook everything up except the +12 v wire to the cap. Then put a 12 volt light bulb between the wire and the plus terminal of the cap. The bulb will light up bright at first, and get dimmer as the cap charges. When the light goes out, hook the wire up permanently.
