Alpine Type X 12" 1243D and PDX 1.1000 install question
Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum and I've attempted to search but to no avail.
I have a PDX 1.1000 amplifier and a 1243D Type-X Subwoofer
In the wiring diagram that Alpine supplies it shows a 2 ohm and 8 ohm way to setup the box. The jumpers and voice coils are in different configurations in each one.
I know that the PDX 1.1000 sends out either signal.
Does it matter whether it is wired either way?
Is there a better way to do it than the other?
Also for this setup how should the amp be tuned correctly?
It will be in a sealed box with 1.2 feet of air space.

Well 2 ohm wiring would be the way to go. You get more power and the amp can supply it much easier.

As rollinonD's said, wire to 2 ohm since the amp is 2 ohm stable. As for tuning, start with the lowpass at 80hz, subsonic at 30hz since the amp's ss filter is not variable and only has off, 15hz, and 30hz to choose from and it looks like your sub's range is 24-200 Hz. Be sure your gains are set correctly too. Once done you can then fine tune your lowpass to what sounds best to you. Good luck.

Definitely going to want 2ohms.
The PDX will put out 1000 watts at either 2ohm or 4ohm, but any more resistance and the output is compromised.
