    Power draw

I have my 2 pioneer 12's hooked up to my Alpine MRPM350 in 2 ohm. When I hit a really deep bass note my Alt. guage drops down into the red, and my lights go dim. I have a 100 amp alternator in my car and was wondering if a Stiffening cap would help? I have always wondered if my power wire was hooked up properly. My car doesnt have easy access to the battery because the washer fluid resevoir is right on top of it. So they have a little Boosting or auxiliary power point on the side and thats where my power wire is connected to.

What do you guys think my best course of action would be?

If it doesn't happen that often, just on strong deep bass notes than I would say go with a cap. But some people on these forums say that it doesn't do anything. But it should.

It seems to happen when I turn the volume up and it is happening with all bass notes when the volume is increased.
It starts when the volume is roughly at 1/2 and gets worse from there.

If its that bad then I would recommend uprgrading your alternater. Have it rewound or whatever that will be the cheapest way to solve the problem.

There is a strong possibility that it is your ground wire. It may be either loose or the gauge may be incorect. I had the same problem until i undid the store install and rewired it. Another problem might be the + terminal wire. The gauge might not be enough. Those are just a few of the possibilities. But before going out and buying a cap i would recommend re-checking your wireing. I personally like the last guy said do not believe that caps make that much of an audible difference. If you listen to bass tones and not quick bass beats then the cap will not make a difference. Caps only work for an instant.
