    Need help on battery/alternator installation

ok so im gonna replace my alt with a new bigger one, and i want to upgrade all the wires. i have some questions

    1) what r the wires im supposed to upgrade? alt to battery, alt to ground, and battery to ground? any others?
    2) my battery is a optima red top, which has side posts for automobile starting, and top ones for accessories. for the battery ground, can I leave the side as it is, and run a wire from the top negative post to a ground spot? or should i upgrade the wire on the side post as well?
    3) i'm using some old 0/1awg wire i have, what type of connectors/ring terminals/battery terminals do I need? links would be helpful

thanks for any help guys, i relaly appreciate it!

well u should upgrade all wire connections as u stated... all that will deal with electrical system.. u can use either the side or top post for grounding, not sure wat ur question was there.. most likely ull use a lot of ring terminals, but im not, sketch it out and see from there..
