Rewiring an old 8-track player.

Ok, kind of an unusual situation here. I recently purchased a still-functioning 8-track player from a yard sale (I'm into vintage audio) that is wired to install into a car's audio system. Now, the stereo system I have installed currently has an auxiliary input jack, and I'd like to use that to hook up my 8-track. However, as I said, the player is wired to install completely into the car. Can anyone tell me how I can re-wire it to a standard 3.5 mm audio plug I can hook into my aux input? Also, how can I power it? I have an extremely basic understanding of simple wiring concepts, but not enough to figure out how to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. If it helps, there are four wires coming out of the back of the player: green, red, black, and gray. The red one is about three times longer than the other three, and there is a large white plastic plug-looking object in the middle of it. Thanks to everyone in advance for any help

Without knowing much more about the wiring of the 8 track red is probably +12v and Black is Ground. Its up to you to figure out Is the Green is the positive signal or not. Green is also another common color for Ground.

Get a LOC (Line Output Converter) and hook it up to the green and gray then run a RCA to Headphone cable into the aux input on your deck (hook red to 12 volt and black to ground.)
