Ground Loop Isolator ?'s

Yeah I have one of these on my 81000d so I figured I would put it on my component amp for the time being because I have bad alternator whine. But when I put it on the little amp the radio or anything does not work. But when I put it on my big amp all of it works. Just wondering what the problem is. Thanks

Whatever "doesn't work" isn't grounded. Sounds like your HU is being grounded through the RCA cables instead of its ground wire. That'd give you whine for sure.

yeah but why does it work when just the rca's are plugged in but then when I put the ground loop isolator in nothing at all works?

Because the RCA's are completing the ground circuit for something, and the isolators break the connection. That's what isolators do.

Unplug all your RCA's from your amps and see what doesn't work.

so if I dont have the rca's plugged up my stuff shout still come on but not play sound is that what you are saying?
