I wanna run IDQ12 DVC subs (1 amp per sub)

can I wire it either way..2ohm style or 4ohmstyle and is either way more prefferable??
Assuming the sub is 2ohm/coil ( ), then yes, you can do it either way. Usually it is easier to just wire the coils in series and bridge the amp.

    Re: voicecoil wiring options

Okay just lost my whole nicely written post.
Okay my question is can i run a Audiobahn alum10q with an aura amp. the sub is 6ohm dvc. the amp can run 160rms at 4ohm. could someone let me know if i can hook up bot voice coils or not off this amp? all info is appreciated!
    amp info-
    S/N @ 4ohms: >90dB
    Frequency response: 20Hz-20KHz min
    Channel separation: min 60dB
    Slew Rate: 60V/usec
    Damping factor: 60
    Continuous Power Output class AB
    RMS power <0.06% THD@ 4 ohms: 50 x 4
    RMS power <0.1% THD@ 2 ohms: 80 x 4
    RMS power <0.1% THD@ 4 ohms: 160 x 2
    Active crossover: continuous (HP/LP/Full)
    Crossover frequencies: full/50-250Hz
Cant find info transfer on the sub.

    Thanks
    Danny

    Re: voicecoil wiring options

is this possible ?? check attachment , its a 4 channel amp , bridged to 2 channel, i know i can connect each channel to a Voice coil, but i need a 2 ohm load for more power out of the amp.

i know its better to wire to each coil, and set the gain equally, but i still wanna if its possible or not . thnx

    Re: voicecoil wiring options

In the diagrams it shows all the wiring ending up to one source. Even if there are two subs there always turns out to be only one set of 1 pos and 1 neg. So does that mean that you can bridge the amp to that one set to as long as that amp handles that final impedance in that last set?????

    Re: voicecoil wiring options

ok, how about a DVC 8ohm sub at 2 ohms? i doubt it, i think you can get it to 4 ohms with no problem.

i do have 2 of them, so maybe i can drop it to 2 ohms with a mono amp?

so, can i get 2 ohms from a single DVC 8ohm driver?

    OR

can i get 2 ohms from (2) DVC 8ohm driver?

this was not listed in this thread yet.

8ohm DVC's can be wired as 4ohms or 16ohms only.

    2 8ohm DVC's can be wired as 2ohms, 4ohms, or 64ohms.

    is it 64...or 32 ohms. i think 32
you could also wire 2 8ohm DVC's to an 8 ohm load.
