    gas guzzling

My car is using almost 3 times the amount of gas that it should be, someone told me that its because i have lots of car audio equipment and its pulling so many amps that it causes the alternator to move slower thus using mroe gas to go the same speed, is there ANY truth to this?

hey bro with that little of equipment it has nothing to do with your alternater. if you had three times what you have you wouldn't have that poor of gas mileage. someone correct me if I am wrong but I don't think your could even notice a drop in mileage.

what kind of car? check the spark plugs and air filter. keep the car up to maintnence..if anything i would say it was the weight, not the alternator.

check the tire pressure as well...you might notice less gas milage when your tires are deflated a bit.

yes...if the spark plugs are bad and worn the car might not be hitting on all 4 cylindars which would cause it to work harder......and did u check your oil filter? and your gas filter?
