1 bigger battery, or 2 smaller?

My stock battery died (of natural causes, was old lol)... so I'm replacing it. This is the first time I've done anything with the batt, so I need help.

Setup will (eventually) be a 1600w sub amp and 300w RMS to comps. Stock alternator, 105a. Stock battery location is already in the back.

Surprisingly, never had any dimming issues with my OEM battery (550CCA), running sub amps up to 2000w.

I've got a Kinetik 800 on the way.... my question is, should I:

-- keep the 800 as a starter batt, get a second 800 for the subs

-- sell the 800, get an HC1800 to run everything

-- keep the 800 for the subs, and get a Deka for a starter

    -- something else?

The concerns I have.... will the alt be able to charge either the 2 batts or the bigger single batt, and is there any benefit to running 2 batts over 1, and vice versa?

Thanks in advance.... not sure what is the best way to approach this

So the alt should be able to charge the Deka and the Kinetik with no problem?

cool.... so if I went the Deka/Kinetik route, would the Deka or the Kinetik be the better starter, or does it even matter?

To smaller batteries will be able to discharge power faster and recover more rapidly.I say get two of the 800's.

I'm actually having the same debate right now too. Luckily (kind of), it was my alt that went out, but my battery will be going soon too. Debating between stock up front and hc800 in back, then eventually a 1400 up front, or just a 1800 up front and then being done.

go for and hc800 in the front first and a stock one in the back. when money allows, hopefully soon, replace it with the biggest one you can afford.

I think this is the direction I'm going right now.... get the 34/78 Deka as a starter, and use the 800 as the 2nd batt

Just some FYI but Carquest sells the Deka Batts under the NGT Extreme line. so if you have a carquest close by you could pick up the 34/78 for 126.00 iirc.
