Need some help with my type r's and hifonics amp. what would you do?

Well to make a long story short...

I have two alpine 1242d's (500RMS) being shipped to my house (hey I got them for $84 each so leave me alone) and a hifonics bx1000d brutus mono class D amplifier ($101) which has the following specs (it is said to be stable at 1 ohm)

    250W RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
    500W RMS x 1 at 2 ohms
    1000W RMS x 1 at 1 ohm

Now i originally bought the bx1000d because i only ordered one type R...but you know how subs work you always want more...so i bought another. Now i still might just sell one and use the 1000d to just power one at 2 ohms, but if I wanted to be stupid and hook them both up to the 1000d, how much RMS power would i be SAFELY getting to each if I wired it to 1 ohm (I'm a total amateur so I am assuming that would be the most powerful configuration even though it probably isn't smart).

Now I kind of need a quick answer because there is a hifonics bx1500d mono amp that i can get for about $180 or $200 in THE NEXT 2 DAYS ONLY. That amp has the following specs:

    500W RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
    1000W RMS x 1 at 2 ohms
    1500W RMS x 1 at 1 ohm

So in addition to the how many RMS to each sub with the 1000d question...I also need to know what would be the best option:

A: Hook up the bx1000d with one 1242D and sell the other sub
B: Hook up the bx1000d with both 1242D's (If this would work I would love it...)
C: Sell the bx1000d and buy the bx1500d to power both 1242D's

Or do Hifonics amps blow and am I just wasting my time and money?

By the way I plan to go with a sealed enclosure either way because I want as much sound quality as possible, but still be able to really thump if I can afford to do so...

A BIG THANKS IN ADVANCE TO ANYONE WHO HELPS ME OUT...THANKS GUYS

Run them both off of one amp? Just sell all of those and get a PA3000db... that would give you 2000w @1ohm...

Sell amp and get a 2006d or what not....1000 watts a piece...or find a cheap amp on here to power them nicely

I'm assuming you can't "strap" random amps... Am I right? Also IF you are running two amps you will be running each sub @2ohms...

Oh, BTW: Type "R"... SQ???? why?

Re: Need some help with my type r's and hifonics amp. what would you do?

Well what kind of RMS range would I be looking for in an amplifier to power both DVC 4 ohm subs? A mono with over 1000W at 2 ohms or do I need something better like at least 2000W at 1 ohm? I am assuming you guys dont think the bx1500d is a good idea...

    PA
    Hifonics

This will be cheaper than two 1000w 2ohm amps..

Also you don't NEED to give each sub 1000w... You would be fine using that amp you have and sending each of them like 700w...

Hey Miker do you mean i could use the bx1000d and send 700 watts to each or do i need the bx1500d to do that? Because like I said I'm only 17 and not loaded so if there is ANY WAY POSSIBLE that I could use the bx1000d to power both or at least the bx1500d it would be FANTASTIC. Like...being able to dunk fantastic.

You will be FINE with your current hifonics amp.. You will not use the full potential of the subs, but you will give them adequate power.. Not optimal though.. But it's not liek you will be under powering them.

Re: Need some help with my type r's and hifonics amp. what would you do?

Yeah I asked a friend about it and he said if I wired it to both at 1 ohm I would be putting about 350 to 400RMS to each. Would it be worth the extra $70 to upgrade to the bx1500d and push them closer to their max? (I'm guessing they would be each getting more like 450 to 500RMS with that one).

Re: Need some help with my type r's and hifonics amp. what would you do?

with the bx1500d it will probably put out roughly 1100rms, and that'll be fine, each sub would see around 550rms, should get plenty loud. BUT if u think your going to upgrade again after this, u might as well get an amp that puts out more power then that, so that u don't have to upgrade ur amp AGAIN.

Also, as the owner of two 12" R's and the previous owner of a BXi2006D, if you ARE planning on upgrading to an amp such as the BXi2006D, don't. Find a nice, quality amp in the classifieds for $350.

SAZ1500s can be found for $350 shipped (the price of a BXi2006D), and my Sundown SLAUGHTERED my BXi.

Re: Need some help with my type r's and hifonics amp. what would you do?

Hey guys thanks for the advice from both of you

Well I think if I can get the bx1500d for under $160 ill go with that, and hook up both of the type r's. If not i will just try using the bx1000d pushing one of the alpine's in a big sealed box for now and see how that sounds, and then keep the other 12 for backup or sell it for more. Remember... I've never had a system before so I probably wont be too hard to impress. I have heard that hifonics amps can give some distortion but that wasn't from the most reliable source.

By the way how do you like your type r's out of curiosity? My friends all buy only JL but I wanted to be a rebel and not get ripped off. So I am very interested to see how they pound.
