Well to make a long story short...
I have two alpine 1242d's (500RMS) being shipped to my house (hey I got them for $84 each so leave me alone) and a hifonics bx1000d brutus mono class D amplifier ($101) which has the following specs (it is said to be stable at 1 ohm)
250W RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
500W RMS x 1 at 2 ohms
1000W RMS x 1 at 1 ohm
Now i originally bought the bx1000d because i only ordered one type R...but you know how subs work you always want more...so i bought another. Now i still might just sell one and use the 1000d to just power one at 2 ohms, but if I wanted to be stupid and hook them both up to the 1000d, how much RMS power would i be SAFELY getting to each if I wired it to 1 ohm (I'm a total amateur so I am assuming that would be the most powerful configuration even though it probably isn't smart).
Now I kind of need a quick answer because there is a hifonics bx1500d mono amp that i can get for about $180 or $200 in THE NEXT 2 DAYS ONLY. That amp has the following specs:
500W RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
1000W RMS x 1 at 2 ohms
1500W RMS x 1 at 1 ohm
So in addition to the how many RMS to each sub with the 1000d question...I also need to know what would be the best option:
A: Hook up the bx1000d with one 1242D and sell the other sub
B: Hook up the bx1000d with both 1242D's (If this would work I would love it...)
C: Sell the bx1000d and buy the bx1500d to power both 1242D's
Or do Hifonics amps blow and am I just wasting my time and money?
By the way I plan to go with a sealed enclosure either way because I want as much sound quality as possible, but still be able to really thump if I can afford to do so...
A BIG THANKS IN ADVANCE TO ANYONE WHO HELPS ME OUT...THANKS GUYS
