what will i need to hook up the alpine cda-9813? does it come with a fuse already? or will i have to get an amp kit to install it? or can i just buy 10 gauge wires to save some money?

you will need a wiring harness (your deck may have come with one.. it plugs into the back of the deck, and ahs all sorts of wires coming out)
and a stock adapter harness is probabl y the easiest way for you to do this...
    what kind of car?
go to a local shop and ask for a stock adapter harness... it will plug right onto your factory harness (what WAS attactched to your old deck) and you will have to connect a few wires from this ahrness to the one from you headunit..
its pretty easy, but if you have any questions, let us know!

Hook up your wiring harness as normal, but for the constant power wire, you need to run 10 AWG wire from the HU directly to your battery, and you'll need to have the wire fused - a 25 amp fuse would be fine. Bad things will happen if you dont do this.

why in hell would you ahve to connect this thing with another wire directly to teh battery? the wiring harness ahs a red wire which does this...
why woul dhe need to run another wire? is there something i dont know about htis deck? maybe a special "totally uslessbullshit" feature of some sort?

edit - i just read about the "high pwoered internal amp"
i scoff at tehe alpine.. it is not necessary to do this...
it might be recommended, but tis not necessary.
are you running your spekars off of the unit, or are you running htem off an external amp?

I have no personal experience with it....but I've read many horror stories about people using just the harness w/o a fuse and frying the internal amp........but if he's using an external amp (best way to go anyways) then it's not even a concern.

definitely fuse the harness... always a good idea... i jsut doubt that 10 awg is necessary...
if you want, buying 10 awg wire seperately is no problem at all, just make sure you ground with 10 awg as well...

Yeah...fusing it would eliminate any chance of frying the internal amp....and 10AWG does sound overkill, but since I have no experience I was just going by what Alpine recommends.
