That's absolutely ridiculous....I would laugh in his face.

Did they give you a breakdown of what each aspect of the install costs?

No breakdown....just give me a quote and said that would cover everything including cutting the bed and cab (and welding it together to prevent leaks) to fit the box through it.

HOWEVER, if I did not want to do the cut, it would only be $400 less and they would install everything in the cab.

They have an excellent reputation and have over 200 tropies in thier showroom from IASCA and tons of other organizations for tons of vehicles they've built, but that doesn't justify a $7,500 install cost.

They said their min. charge for an IASCA regulations install is $8,000!!!!!!!!! What's up with that? My charge was for a "show" install....whatever that means.

    LOL, see ya there.

Go to another place, there are shops around me that do absolutely amazing work and charge up to 1/10 less than that.

edit: after looking at your car...I wouldn't be at all suprised if they looked at your ride, looked at what you wanted to have installed, and hiked their prices up because they thought you would be loaded and would be willing to pay for it...

yeah right, this dude wanted custom door panels and they were going to chop out the wall between the bed and cab. no **** thats expensive. theyd have to custom fab new body panels to caver the chopped out area. of course it was expensive, no shop would do that for less the 5,000

That price didn't include custom fabbed doors...they said they would install the components in the stock location and use kick panels on the bottom.

He sure is. From the minute I stepped in the door he was quick to say they charge $600/day for custom work.

    Horns? Like Image Dynamics?

After seeing a few cut-thru's, I really don't think it's that big of a deal. I'm not cutting the crossbrace in the cab, so I should be fine.

By the way, I've hired Automotive Entertainment in Pasadena, CA to do the work.
