    Neonz in da box

I want to put a neon light inside the speaker box. I was given one with no instructions, but how do I power it. I see a red & black wire. Where do they go?

you specilize in computers, but cant figure out how to use the search button ?!?!? you can relay it using the remote lead for your amp so it goes on and off with your stereo, you can run the "illumination" lead back and make them go on when your lights go on. or you could run a simply switch, but you dont sound like the type of person who would always remember to turn it off, so i would not recomend that.

Well, I specialise in IT too...

Ok, as you may know, the PC has two types of power, a 12v+ and a 5v+... as for all the neons I've worked with in PC's, they take in 12volts... I took a 30cm neon off my PC and installed it in my system... what you would need to do is to get familiar with relays... I had the same problem, cause I was trying to link my three amps to the AMP REM... and I linked that 12v (red wire obviously) to the same terminals, and also installed a button switch at the side so it can be turned on and off...

and if you've done PC tuning, you'll know that there's somethng called the EL wire... they are much softer on the eyes, and don't look as cheap if yo don't set it up well... EL's tend to give you a faint glow all around, whilst neons just shines on you so you've got to get a good reflecting surface (I used aluminium foil tape) and also trial and error...
