    Gain Control - Help

    My HU (SonyCDX620) has 4vrms, how should I have the gain set on my amp so my subs are recieving the best signal w/ no clipping etc?

    easiest way to do it is to disable all the speakers except the ones your setting gains for. Turn the gain(s) all the way down. Turn your h/u up to about 3/4 volume. Then slowly turn your gain up until the speakers begin to lose sq, and back it off about 1/8 of a turn from there. You might want to tweak it a little bit one way or the other from there, but that should get you pretty close.

    W/4v you shouldn't need a lot of gain.
