Headunit and cigarette lighter not working

Hey guys I got a situation. Yesterday I installed a headunit onto my car, and I got it to work successfully. Earlier today I had my keys turned one click to turn on my headunit. My headunit was working perfectally fine until I plugged something into my cigarette lighter. Suddenly both my light that I plugged in the cigarette lighter and the headunit went out. Now my headunit won't turn on and the cigarette lighter won't work. I have yet to check the fuses and wires, but any suggestions as to what could be wrong?

Did you install the head unit correctly into the factory wiring?

Yeah I connected all the headunit's wires onto a wiring harness. And hten I plugged that into the car's wires. It should be all correct, I quadruple checked it before I installed the headunit lol. Everything on the headunit was working properly as well.

if its a blown fuse, find it then replace it. try to plug the light back in to the cigarette lighter and if it blows again you probably have a short somewhere

it should be your cigg lighter/clock/radio fuse in the fuse box under the hood.

I drive the same gen accord. I'm pretty sure something fell into the cigg lighter when you plugged whatever you plugged in it and it blew the fuse. (maybe a coin or something small) but just replace the fuse in the fuse box and im sure you should be fine. If there is a problem your probably gonna have to take apart your dash and see if you have something loose.

Theres a diagram under the lid in your fusebox and itll show you which fuse is for the radio/clock/cigg lighter.

if you have a short that means that there is a wire somewhere behind the dash where maybe it has a hole in the rubber surround and the wire is touching bare metal
