RCA's on the same side as power cable?

I heard that when running your RCA's you should put it on the other side of the car to reduce static or something like that..is this true? Thanks.

I've heard that also, when I first ever run my wired in my vehicle I did that and when I changed songs you could hear static and thunder thru my subs, but then again I had a wal mart amp kit so im assuming it was low end rcas.

Re: RCA's on the same side as power cable?

i always run them down the other side anyways. with 4 and 0 AWG its hard to cram a **** ton of wires all in the same spot. but as long as you have a GOOD set of sheilded RCAs it shouldnt matter.

Yes, that's exactly what we are saying.

    It's an old wives tale.

    Nothing more.

Re: RCA's on the same side as power cable?

Wow... I have ALL my wires running down the drivers side floor molding...

4ga. Amp power, 16 ga. Remote Turn on, and RCA cables... I've got a 600W RMS Amp powering 3-250W RMS 10" subs... On top of that, I have the cheapest RCA cables I could find from Wal-Mart... I think I paid $7 bucks for a 12' RCA cord...

I have NEVER had ANY problems...

Guess I better route that RCA cable on the passengers side...

If its not giving you a problem, then there is no point in rerouting the rcas.
