In case you didn't remember, you joined September of 06 and considering you are all of 22 years old, you have no business refering to anyone as "son".
he may not have any friends, but regardless...READ THE THREAD ABOUT THE BIG 3, DON'T MAKE A NEW ONE
Re: Official CarAudio.com Big 3 Thread
i guess i can chime in also... make sure u fuse to your wire not the alternator rated power :)
who cares about ur alt putting out 200 amp if ur wire can only handle 100 amp :)
fuse to the wire

I know I dont have any friends around here yet, but I think I can speak for all of us when I say we dont like repeating ourselves. You dont have to have friends to know that. You dont think Ive been using forums on the internet for years? It doesnt matter what type of forum it is, it is a given that no one likes repeating themselves. That is simply why I spoke for all of us. The son part was a joke, if you couldnt tell. I have no idea how old you are, and Im sick of explaining myself here. I dont have to prove anything to you ;)

What is your question?
Re: Official CarAudio.com Big 3 Thread
ssbogger, the only advice I can give you is to follow the + wire coming from the battery. It will eventually go to the alternator, so just try to follow it by all means possible... Other than that, I'm not sure we can help you out more than that :(

The + on the battery has a female plastic connector that connects to something under the fan. The alt is no where near this connection. The only wire i see coming from the alt connects to the - terminal on the battery.
I dont have a problem with the - terminal to ground and engine block to chassis, those are fairly simple. It's just when i looked under the hood and expected to see the + battery cable going to the alt and it wasnt. This halted my install and left me confused.
Any help?
Maybe I didn't explain it enough. It doesn't really matter where the stock wires go bud. Just add new ones.

Go back and stop being lazy.

this is a thread specifically started to answer questions regarding the big 3, so I'm here asking my question; if I had started a new thread in the forum with the same question I could understand a rash of responses along the lines of "Search!"
You're doing pretty much the same thing as a new thread. We created this thread so people would READ it.
Re: Official CarAudio.com Big 3 Thread
For all you kids that are still in Jr High (or acting like it). I've asked some mods to delete this argument. I don't want this to get all cluttered up when people want to come hear and read Relevant information.
Re: Official CarAudio.com Big 3 Thread
Alright, well thanks anyways. Thats all i knew to do as well. I didnt know if anyone had done it on a tacoma yet. I guess i could find out if the wire coming off the alt is power or not by using the dmm.
Re: Official CarAudio.com Big 3 Thread
Just did the Big 3 in 2/0 welding cable... Its Orange so that adds what... 30hp? On a serious note, my lights dim less, but I still need a larger alternator.

JohnEcon: I want to make a post similar to this format on my Subaru Forums, would you mind? I already gave this thread credit for my original post with my completed Big 3, but I want to make one specific for Subaru owners if you do not mind. Let me know. Here is my original Thread:
