When beefing up an electrical system, would one want to first purchase a high output battery (ie, Yellow top) and then an HO alt, or the other way around? And why would it be a good idea to pick one over the other as the first upgradE?

depends on how big of a cheap skate you wanna be. if you have a battery charger it would be ok but not great.
what does having a battery charger have to do with anything?
and it's not abotu being a cheapskate, the question is simply what is the better choice, replaceing your battery first or replacing your alternator first?
alternator. my theory is what good would a battery do if i can't get charged?
I would first do the big 3 and then do BOTH the Alt and the battery at the same time.....
what does an alt do? if the alts to low the system pulls from the battery, and yes you can charge up your batteries this way but wouldnt be the best thing to do plus bothersome to do.Quote:

After the first year I did add an adjustable voltage regulator to it so I can idle at 15.2V in the lanes. Other then that it was completely stock.
Start with a battery, it adds to the capacity of your electrical system.
