NEWBIE NEEDING HELP PLZ (gmc yukon)

I have an 01 Yukon. I have an amp w/ subs hooked up now. I was wanting to do some mids and highs. Thinking of using existing speaker pushed w/ amp. I was trying to locate the factory amp. Anyone know where it is? Also did not change head unit, due to Onstar, anyone know how to make use of it w/ an aftermarket head unit? With my subs i have a slight rattling of my rear vents (on the outside sides of rear window) Can anyone guide through the removal so i can install some dampening material? ...more questions, but thats more than enogh for now. Thanx for any help you can give...

I think you have to get a relocation kit....a kit to relocat your HU in the truck.
I know by chaning my HU i lost the chime when door is open with keys and when lights are on. and there was no way i was going to pay for a relocation kit just for that. but for on-star it would be worth it. maybe relocate it in the glove box?

im sure someone here may have more info. but you could always call a car audio place in your region and see if they have these kits/info.

    Good luck!

    My Stereo System

    HU: Eclipse CD5435
Highs: Diamond Audio Hex s400.25 Component Set
    MidBass: Image Dynamics IDQ62
EQ: PG eq215ix & PG Line Driver
    Amp: Phoenix Gold ZX450
Subs: 1 JL Audio 10w7 in H.O. Box
    Sub Amp: Alpine 1507

    Onstar..pffttt
    Get AAA
You cant just amp the stock speakers or swap them out and use the stock amp
BOSE uses stupid ohm loads so this isnt really possible.
If you want the door chime and all that stuff the harness is not cheap.
The flap is for your HVAC, it makes it so that there isnt pressure inside the vehicle.
If you can hear it inside then rip it off, if outside only then just leave it. It does serve a purpose.
Sound deading wont affect it nor will the sound deadning be affected from it.
If it aint broke, dont fix it

Cell phone w/hands free > Onstar

I was over at a friends house checking out his new GMC truck... it had onstar. He got a phone call so he had to run inside for a bit. That's when I had some fun. I tried to sound as plastered and drunk as possible and hit the onstar call. Then I proceeded to ask them how to start the truck with the breathalizer installed when I was drunk off my ***. Then I told them I figured out I was in the wrong car since mine was a white truck and this one was obviously snow and vomet colored. Oh man, it was priceless.

Peripheral makes an adaptor that lets you put an aftermarket deck into a GM car with Bose and OnStar and lets you keep both (and your door chime where applicable). Its like 180$ retail

He still needs some Line Out Converters if he wants to use the stock H/U.
    www.davidnavone.com has nice ones

Yeah sorry I thought he already had a sub amp installed... Anyway if I remember correctly your factory amp should be in under the center console near where your factory sub is in its little ported box. (Audiovox Techservices is not listing the bose system information for that car so I cannot double check to be sure) If you are going to keep the existing speakers, I would just use an amp integration harness and get a new reciever, then use the RCA outs to run your sub amp. If you want to replace the whole setup however, go for it but you will still need the onstar interface.
