hey we are working on the godzilla show vehicle again at gatelyaudio. the customer has 2 blue top batterys under the vehicle hooked up to an isolator that is fed from the front deep cycle battery. the customer was on his way to a show about a month ago and his old factory alt fried. he got it replaced with another factory alt. the vehicle is a 1997 ford expedition.
i was wondering what your thoughts are on how big of an alt we need. the total system draw from the back batterys is going to be around 400amps at any given time.
the front battery runs the main electrical system and a huge hitch.
when the truck came back in on monday, the back batterys were at 8v. we have had them charging off and on for about 3 days now and they have only gained 1v. so they are at 9.2v or something....
do you think that because the customer currently has a factory alt that it is slowly killing the batterys? we had the back batterys replaced about a month ago, cause they were bad. do you think the fact alt is killing the new batterys allready?
the vehicle is here if you want a visual of the truck
