B> High Quality 6.5 speakers w/ tweeters
I need 2 sets of very nice SQ 6.5 component speakers to put in my car. They will be ran off a sundown SAX 100.4. So I'm guessing that I'll want speakers/tweeters that are around 100rms a piece..I need crossovers with the sets since I plan on only running them off one amp. My budget is a little low...let's say around $400.

I have 2 sets of JBL MS-62Cs that would be right at $400. http://www.caraudio.com/forums/speak...ts-2-sets.html

Yeah, I seen them, but those mids...they don't look like they hit the lows...just because of the surrounds.

6.5" mids are not made to "hit the lows". If you need a lot of midbass up front you should be using a dedicated midbass driver along with a small midrange speaker, as in a 3-way front stage. Also, your installation makes a big difference in how well the speakers will sound on the low end.
Re: B> High Quality 6.5 speakers w/ tweeters
If you really want good mid bass up front, you'd be better served spending some of your budget on sealing/deadening your doors. That's how you get good mid bass.
Re: B> High Quality 6.5 speakers w/ tweeters
Yeah, I know this. I was just looking at the surrounds... like compared to the rf t1 power and the JBL GTO609C...

You don't always need a dedicated midbass speaker though. It's always nice if you have the room or want to make a 3way setup, otherwise looking for the right mid will do just fine. I can vouch for that myself, though I did spend a decent amount of money on my mids. The JBL set you have does have very good reviews though.

Do you have any 3" vc mids geoff?

Yeah, I suppose it depends too on how much output one really needs. Plus a 3-way is more difficult to set up and tune. I personally wouldn't run a mid-level 2-way component set down to 60 Hz as I use an 80 Hz HPF at 24 dB/octave. I let the subwoofer take that edge off the mids so they aren't worked so hard.
Re: B> High Quality 6.5 speakers w/ tweeters
the sax 100.4 is active capable amp so if your looking to do a 2 way steup you dont need x-overs. try some raw drivers. btw if you do a search on diyma there is a thread that converts the sb drivers to the new arc audio black series . so basicly you can get the sb version for hundreds less if you dont mind not having an arc label that is lol . the tweets i recomend from word of mouth but there is a direct conversion to the sb if u want to duplicate the arc black series set

Good point out man, I may just do that.. Since I have a 3Sixty2 rf processor.

If you do sound deaden the doors it will help with the midbass, but only to an extent.
