New stereo system for my truck. Suggestions, Advice, Options Needed.
Hey guys new to the forum and first post.
I'm trying to put a system together for my New Toyota Tacoma and need some feed back on what i have in mind for it so far. Trying for a full range system, high quality that sounds great. Im not looking for jaw rattling bass but am picky about SQ as a whole, I want the lows and highs to come out with all types of music that i listen too. Here is what i'm thinking about. Keep in mind if i can find a combination that is cheaper (Different Brand) with about the same SQ or close too it please let me know some suggestions. Thanks
Head Unit: Alpine IVE-W535HD
Speakers:
Front: JL Audio c5-650
Rear: JL Audio c3-600
Amp: JL Audio XD700/5
Subwoofer:
Stealthbox with one JL Audio 10W3v3-2 Subwoofer
Or
Subwoofer:
Stealthbox with two JL Audio 10W1v2-4 Subwoofers
Amplifier change with this Stealthbox
JL Audio Slash v3 600/1v3 & JL Audio Slash v3 300/4v3
^ This adds an additional $800.00 to a already pricey system I'm thinking the other route unless this is that much better of a combination.

you can get alot better for that price. SSA audio has some nice SQL woofers

Unless you have a local JL Audio shop giving you a good deal on everything you may find I and other vendors on this site can put together something quite competitive. I like the Stealthbox idea because they're one of the best made custom fit boxes when you're tight on space. Otherwise I can offer suggestions on different speakers and amplifiers that will fit the stock locations and the amplifiers will not take up much space. One thing I suggest is a 6x9 component system instead of downsizing to 6.5". There are lots of good options for 6.5" coaxials, and if you want the brands to match I can make that happen.

What are you thinking? I'm set on the Alpine HU so need to start from there, I'm pretty new to car audio so I am not set on JL Audio if i can find a better or equal SQ set up. I put JL Audio up there assuming they were the best or one of the best out there. I have to think there is cheaper set ups out there with similar or equal performance. Keep in mind this sub is going behind the rear seat of my pickup and am limited to space so the stealthbox is probably what im thinking about going with or I might go with the center console model, either way the stealthbox.

i'm 10 min south of gilroy ,so very close to you .might wanna look into a pair or even a single 8" sub for what you want. also i can suggest some cdt components also for your truck instead of the jl comps..if you are dead set on the jl stuff i do sell it locally .but better can be had .you should listen to my system and see if you like what i have ,it might be just what your looking for .

Not sure if 6x9 will fit in my vehicle ??? I have a 2013 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab. I'm looking for better SQ and heard that a component system is better for that than coaxials? Why do you suggest the 6x9 and why do you think a coaxial is a better choice?
Re: New stereo system for my truck. Suggestions, Advice, Options Needed.
i've done a couple of 2010 tacoma extra cabs if they are the same its a 6x9 but they just are not an easy install for them ,we had to trim the inside of the door panels to make new 6x9 's fit. the 6.5 will be an easier and better option unless you are willing to do the work

Are you set on having rears? I would save the money and buy a great set of 6.5's for the front and run them active off the 4 channel. If you need rears, just run the factory off the deck and they should sound good enough for the fill.
I have a f350 crew cab that I put alpine spx17pro type x components up front and ran them active and they are plenty. I used 2 jl 8w3v3's behind my back seat and was plenty of bass for me and sounded great. I even for a while ran jl 450/4 and 1000/1 for amps. Now I am changing the system and selling it all, but it sounded great.
