Re: Cheap, low end SQ 12!
no if you are keeping the 1200rms id go with the new orion tc9 sub if you wnt to get louder you will go with another amp and the type x custom. i still think the tc9 will get lower and is very effecient so it gets loud off of little wattage. not sure about cory's sub but i have never disliked any sub from him. he made one of my favorite tc9 subs for me

Well ****......
Now the 12s I'm looking at are too powerful...
I was talking with Gavon (the guy who's selling the X's) and he says it'll get down, just give it some break in time since its never been powered or even mounted....
That Orion and that Type X are THE SAME PRICE shipped...
I've got an ASPM1500 @ 1 ohm on 12v electrical to work with!
Louder and lower, with an emphasis on SQ for both accounts, which one should I get people?
Re: Cheap, low end SQ 12!
A piece of advice. Doesnt matter what you pair with that AP it will sound like crap. Keep the OA and get a new, quality amp.
SQ is also not described by hitting the lows. Hitting lows is a function of the proper box for the sub your using.
Re: Cheap, low end SQ 12!
if it's between the 2 then i would go with the orion, im not sure if i wanna split them as of this moment.

Re: Cheap, low end SQ 12!
Eh! I want to make up for the lost cone area by feeding the 12 more watts, and that's why I want something that'll take a 1 ohm 1100 watt load! I don't want to spend more money to get less!
The only problem with me keeping my 15 is that since the box is soo big, provided getting a better box for it, will cost me an additional 3 inches, should I need to get to my spare tire, I'm screwed! And it's in a **** box! So why not get a bitchin 12, put it in a nice small, but capable box, feed it 1100 watts and ATLEAST have the same performance as my OA15 + **** box!
See what I'm tryna accomplish here? Trust me, I was really close to getting a OA12, but if I'm gonna pay more money for a smaller sub, I might as well get better performance out of it...
Re: Cheap, low end SQ 12!
So I was messing around with Torres and I plugged the dimensions of my box and port And BAM
I'm AT 3.34 cubes at 32hz......
I plugged in the other sketches dimensions in. Difference between my box and his box was that its 3 inches deeper and the port length is 33 inches long 2.75 inches wide and I got a tune of 30h....
Does port length make up for port depth??
With the information described, what's wrong with my current port? It's not deep, so it doesn't have to be wide, is what I'm getting from it all....
