    Important Port Question

hey what's up...i currently have a box with the port ontop the box...i used it in a hatch
now i am putting the box in a trunk...and i dont want the port firing upwards...because it sounds crappy....so i wanna direct it to fire towards the trunk...same direction as the speaker...i tried using an elbow but it's wayyyy too big
so i was wondering if i can build like a small box on the port opening to direct the air in the same direction as the speaker...i am using a 3x8 port
also i wanna make it 3x10
anyone has any ideas on how to do this...or if to do it at all
and like what calculations would i need to do ?
    thanks alot !

how would i compensate for the change in shape of the port ?...like would it make a big difference ?

Your best bet would be to go ahead and build a new box if you could. It would save you alot of hassle and look better.

i agree. making a little box on top probably wouldn't look very good. your best bet is to build a new box.

If it's for personal enjoyment, there really is no need for a ported enclosure, you will get a wider variety of freq's sounds that sound like they are supposed to, out of a sealed box
