    not sure anymore

I was planning on getting a 12" xxx but I only have a little over 2 cubes of space. Are there any other subs that will give me comparable sql to the xxx that requires around 2 cubes? does a 10" xxx require less space? I was looking into that id max or a sound splitter rl-p any suggestions?
    thanks

    Re: not sure anymore

According to the RE site, a 12" XXX only needs 2.1ft^3 ported and 0.8ft^3 sealed.

Many people have questioned RE's sealed volume requirements, and remember, that's 2.1ft^3 before displacement, and he only has a little over 2ft^3 total.

EDIT: In response to your question, yes, the 10 will require less space and would probably work.

Yep, and a 10" would need even less space.

Good point. I would think that the XXX would do just fine in a little less than 2ft^3 sealed though.

    Re: not sure anymore

sounds like a truck cockeyed..... i just ran your numbers and if you use 3/4" you will have 2.74707 feet cubed... i doubt that would be enough to fit a port and driver displacement but that would probably be enough for the 10..

    Re: not sure anymore

YUP! it's a truck. So I should go with a 10" RE XXX? I just got quoted for a 12" XXX, $299 shipped??? <-- sounds a little off..........I am gonna fiberglass the box; how would i port it? Since it's gonna be a tall but shallow enclosure, hot really sure. Well here is a question, with the 10" XXX, am I going to get a lot louder with a ported enclosure?
