ok yet ONE more what sub/amp question. (space issues)

this one is gonna be fun heh.
I'm looking for an amp/sub combo that can put 145db on the dash, more if at all possible. The catch: it has to sound decent for daily music play, and it has to be within my $1,000 budget. More importantly, the problem I'm facing is that my trunk is tiny as hell. I have 13" of height, 15" of depth and about 30" of width to work with.
The absolute largest box I can fit would be 3.38 cu. ft. --- this would pack my trunk from top to bottom, wall to wall. I could fit a 15" sub if I got creative with the install, but I honestly dont know if I should do that. From what I gather, it might be better to do a single 12" sub ported. I also dont know how a single 12" sub ported would compare to one 15" sub sealed. I know that I'm sick of 10" subs, they just dont hit the low low range like I want them to, so they're out of the question.

first off I have heard plenty 10" subs that can go plenty low. More based on the install/inclouser/car they are in.

you might want to look into the soundsplinter RL-p, or prettry much any sub that can be put into a a 2-2.75^3 ft ported enclouser. then give it as much power as it can handle/you can afford. but in you case i would go 1 12" ported vs. 1 15" sealed. as for 145 at the dash, this is up to you finding what frequancys are loudest in your car and tuning the box accordingly. I would just aim for it to sound good clean and loud vs. just trying to hit a Db number.

well, that's what makes it a pain lol
I want it to hit 140 db+ daily on music. I doubt i'll listen to it that loud daily or i'll end up deaf in the next 10 years..... but I do want to know that I could do it if I wanted to without endangering the sub. As for budget - $1000 will grab me just about any sub/amp combo I want if I were to do a single woofer setup........ I could probably fit 2 12" woofers if I went sealed, that would give me great sq, but I dont know if I can find the money to power 2 top-notch 12" woofers. So.... I'm leaning to either a single Brahma, a RL-p, or a XXX - probably gonna just port the box and feed it a ton of power.

sounds like a wise idea, Would leave some extra room in the trunk and not pack it completely full. Ahh... sound dampining would be a wise move. Port the box to about 34hz that should give you a decent mix of everyday and spl.
