Is the radioshack SPL meter worth it?

My uncle is the manager and can get anything for 25% off so I was wondering if at this price would the Digital meter for $59.99 then take off his discount be worht the money. How much does a better one cost? Where can I find a better one? How far off will this things reaading be? Thanks everyone

Audiocontrol RTA for about 900 w/the 170db mic

LinearX setup for about 1600, mic included I believe

    We won't discuss B&K pricing, it's scary.

You could try the audiocontrol epic 150, rated to 150db, not sure how accurate it is though...

Where can one purchase the audiocontrol or linearX? I thought that they'd cost many thousands of dollars. Are they both RTA that can measure the relative levels of each frequency?

    DEX-P9 (headunit)
    DEQ-P9 (30band eq L/R, time alignment, 36dB/oct 4 way crossover)
    Soundstream Tarantula (for subs)
Precision Power PCX-4125 (for horns and midbasses)
Image Dynamics CD2 comp mini horns
    Scan-Speak 7" 18W/5535A midbasses
    Subs still pending.

    Epic 150^

It will read over 150 but in turn the less accurate it becomes.
