    what 12" subs to get??

okay i have a dual 12" qlogic type 4 bandpass box.. i know its not the smartest idea but i want to run it anyway. i have a memphis class d 500 watt amp and dont know what subs to get the only subs i found that are made for a type 4 bandpass are polk audio ex124's which im not sure because i havent read any reviews. I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of subs i can get to fit this box or ones that will work great for a decent price. any ideas or should i just go with the polk here are the specs of the polk...
The ultra-stiff mineral-filled polymer composite cones with rubber surrounds featured on the Polk Audio EX124 subs deliver what Polk likes to call "skull-collapsing" bass. The vented pole piece keeps the voice coil cool, for reliable operation.

These surprisingly affordable 12" subs can produce clean, powerful bass from ported, sealed or bandpass enclosures. If you're a do-it-yourself box builder, you will love the specs and tips Polk includes in the owner's manual. 1-year warranty.

power range: 33-150 watts RMS each
    peak power: 400 watts
    frequency response: 20-500 Hz
    sensitivity: 93 dB
    top mount depth: 5-3/4"
sealed box volume: 0.95 cu. ft.
ported box volume: 1.25 cu. ft.
for type 1, type 2, and type 4 Q-Logic boxes

My friend got a Alpine Type S 10" sub in a bandpass box. To my surprise, it was louder and ALOT cleaner then my 2 old 12" kenwoods. I don't see why you couldnt go ahead and upgrade to the 12's and throw another in there. Should be loud...but then again I'm not a big bandpass fan

since when has kenwood sounded cleaner and been louder then alpine
and if subs in bandpass boxes sound clean, then what sounds bad
a THUMP! in a bandpass box?

I have two kenwood 12s in a bandpass and they say that they are not mande for a bandpass. Its ok.. They sound alot louder than they would sealed but the thing you have to be willing to give up is SQ. If your going to run a bandpass then you must know your not going to get much SQ. I'm just trying to say that just becaue they don't say they are made for a bandpass box doesn't mean you can put em in it...Heck I'm surprized anything is made for bandpass boxes..And whats up with all those pre-built audiobahn bandpass boxes? are they ported or bandpass cause they look bandpass but can't tell...not that audiobahn cares much for SQ anyway..d@mn I am rambling like crazy

i haven't heard the EX series either but they would probably sound worse simply b/c they are a lower level than the DX which i have heard.

i meant that i was surprised that 1 10 in a bandpass could sound better then 2 12's in a sealed....(i didnt know much about car audio then....size of the woofer was the only thing i understood). i know kenwoods would never sound better then alpines...that wasnt my point
