If your looking for a brand that is cheap and put's out more than you would expect. Look at Xsite. I even found a shop down here that sells them.

Stay away from pyramid, pyle, roadmaster, legacy, lower sony's, cuspid, dhd...

Those brands will "work" but are bottom level brands.

In addition to ^ Boss, Rockwood...

Look into Profile and US Acoustics for good cheap power too.

Id stay away from Kicker Comps! j/k

This thread could turn ugly, as there are alot of varrying opinions on certain brands. But the generally accepted 'junk' would be Pyramid, Jensen, Boss, Legacy, Crako (sp), Craig, Denford and Rockwood ( generally avoid companies trying to sound like another company lol).... uhm.... Roadmaster.... and anything from Walmart, Radioshack or an auto parts store.

Nope, Denford is, or at least was, a brand. I use to see them advertise in the car audio mags all the time a few years ago. They made me laugh because between them and Rockwood, you practically have the name Rockford (fosgate) already. I dont know, they may be defunked by now though.

I can try to find a link or something maybe if you want.

edit: not finding a link (although it was a small and obscure second rate company)... maybe it was Kenford.. lol

LOL! Ditto. How true. Doesn't just apply in car audio either.

Yeah, I think it was Kenford.....I somewhat remember that aswell...LOL. And I remember wondering why these companies kept combining Kenwood and Rockford together to make their names

Re: What Sub Brands And Amps To Stay Away From

Yep you were right squeak, I was thinking of Kenford not Denford.

To these companies potential customers (ignorants), Rockford and Kenwood are probably considered the pinnacles of car audio technology.
