I need a good, REALLY shallow sub. please help...

I've got about 1.0 - 1.4ft^3 and I need a sub (or subs) that can fit a depth of about 5 inches or less. The box will definately be sealed. I have about 6 inches external, using 3/4 inch mdf, I have about 4.5'' internal?

Hmm, that rules out anything with a large motor...

I guess you could probably run a few RE 8's. I know they have a mounting depth of about 4 inches.

    What about these?

I've heard a lot of good things about ID, and I think it would fit.

OK, I reworked my measurements, trying to squease every possible inch, and it looks like i can get about 7 inches external. The original measurement of 5.5 was ''wrong'' in that it was my top depth, not where the sub would be. Sorry about that. But that still would mean about 5.5 inches internal, SO--would something like 1/2 birch be a good substitute for 3/4 mdf? This would give me about 6 in internal, which I think should be enough for most 10's and some 12's.

The pioneer shallow mounts do really well with about 400 watts each. I have done a few of these now, and I have been impressed.

lol I would do that if I had the money... plus I haul a lot of equipment back during the summer and a big box like that would **** to take in and out all the time. When im a rich man though from mowing lawns all summer it will definitely be taken into consideration! Thanks for the thought!

Yeah I'd be pretty interested to know about the RE 10's. Also a price would be nice, since their website is absolute crap. Thanks for all the help so far.
