hey blackgeltabs. i was considering the same comp. set, it looks really g0od, specs and all, and in //ALPINE i trust..
But reading around abit, i've been looking at the infinity kappa perfect set, i think i'm gonna end up buying those, its alil more, but i think i will be happy once i hear them...
and as for rf, i have had bad experiences with rf speakers, amps have been great, but speakers, ehh, no comment......actually let me clarify, rf subs.....

I would definatly suggest the Type R component speaker set. Very nice sounding. The mounting depth is quite deep, however.

Is this not a reasonable place to park?

Midbass in this speaker set really surprised me... it was honestly very good for the price... I felt the tweeter sounded like a tin can, very unrefined and harsh, but the midbass, given the install, was crazy.

The set overall is a little unbalanced, but I was very happy with the authority of the low end.

yes i agree with jlaine, the tweeters are tinny, but i have an EQ (the older model x-overs don't have tweeter attenuation) so i basically turned them down a little...but ion the type r's if you put the tweeter on -1 attenuation or -2 they sound much better.

i love type r splits they sound awesome my opinion is that the 6.5" should be used if you have a huge ammount of bass in the back the 6.5" ers will bring the stage forward not to say the 5.25" ers wont they can keep up with a pair of type R 15" subs in a hatch and the 5.25s are beter for sq but the bass has nothin on the 6.5" version

Yeah I think im going to get those alpines the only problem that im running into is the they are rather deep and they are going in the front door of a 90 Nissian Sentra. But I think ill just make a 1/2" plate out of plywood so it has a little extra room and its not so close to the window when it rools down.
