Are you going to be porting those or going sealed?

Don't rush a decison if you're worried about missing the deal on the compvrs...

    http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?...ore=&catid=370

Beyond that...the compvr's are some pretty solid drivers that get pretty loud. The SX is a very good driver as well, that gets loud. As far as your decision, for me it would depend on what you want to spend on an amp. The kickers need a lot less power to reach their potential and you could get equal output cheaper...but if you've got the cash to get the nine.1 then I would go with the Sx just because it's a higher quality woofer.

I don't see why it wouldn't. It only needs about 2.25-2.5cf.

Only you can tell us that....measure up.

    EDIT:
I don't see why it wouldn't. It only needs about 2.25-2.5cf.
Try again...needs more than that to sound good ported...

You'll need about 3-3.5 cubes optimal...and just to give you an idea, the box I'm building this weekend will be 6.2 cubes gross (including wood), and will only be 3.5 cubes when all is said and done with 54 sq inches of port...so you need about 6 cubes of space. If you can fit that, you're good.

Uh no, actually it doesn't. They'll sound just fine with 2.25-2.5 after woofer displacement, actually. No reason why they wouldn't. Response is fine, impedance peaks are reasonably similar. It'll sound fine.

You have about 14.2 ft^3 to work with, so you certainly have far more than you need for a single SX 15.

For 2.5cf@35Hz tuning with 40 sq in of port area (that will be plenty for upto around 1200-1400w or so), you need a port about 29 inches long. So, I'd just do a 16 x 2.5 slot port. You can just make a "maze" style port, or just run the port along the side and around the back of the box. I'd probably go with the latter option, as it requires less work and you only have to build a single L shaped piece for the port, since the box will compose the other 3 walls of the port. That port will require about 0.8-0.9cf of box volume, so the box would need to be about 3.6-3.8cf before woofer and port displacement.

That way you at least have quite a bit of trunk left over.

I've heard one in 2.3 cubes...sounded like ***. Put it in 3.1-3.2 with the same tuning, same amp, same car, MUCH better. My words here are from experience with THAT woofer, getting fed 1100 watts with the enclosure you're reccomending. I've also had experience with it in a bigger box and the difference with just that extra three quarters ft^3 is substantial enough that I would never reccomend a box that small for the driver.

Sorry I'm not the typical member spitting out things only to get shut down...I've actually dealth with that driver, not impressed in the small box one bit.
