    Bass Tube vs. Subwoofer

I'm thinking of replacing my 12" subwoofer with a bass tube. The subwoofer sounds good, it's loud, but rattles the trunk.

I'm thinking of getting a bass tube instead. I don't really care to have an extreme system. I just want a little thump.

The factory system is bose and sounds pretty good - just missing the deep base.

What are your thoughts on putting a 10" bass tube in? Think it will sound good and have that punch to it?

    It's going in a 2004 nissan maxima.

Just downsize then, those bass tubes are a ripoff. Get an 8 or a 10, put it in a pretty small sealed box and it will give you the low end you are looking for. Come may i'm glassing a 110v2 or Koda 10 into my trunk in a stealth install, and will only take up .5 cubes

    I agree ^^^

Put a smaller size sub in there cause no one on this forum would probably ever tell you to buy a Bass Tube...not worth it! And secondly I agree with Jack to Sound Deaden it!

The only tube subwoofer I would look at would be something in a Sonotube - but that's different than a "bass tube" and really only is used for HT apps.

The Maxima will probably rattle with a tube or a sub in a box. I would go with a single 10 inch sub in a sealed box.
