How do i do this.....

How do i tune a port, its how long the port is right? how long would a port tuned to 33Hz be? and does it matter how big the port is, im making it a vent, eventually when i build the box, i was gonna make it like 10x2" most likely bigger, im not sure, i needa get more specs on some **** before i make my final calculations n ****......its for the 15" xxx's

Well usually when you get the speakers the manufactor will give you the lenght to cut/make your ports for a specific tuning which is usually the ideal tuning for that sub as tested by the manufactor. If you want to tune it differently like say to 33hz then you could try using a computer calculator program... these programs will tell you how long to cut a port to get the hz you want in a specific box size....oh and yes the port size does matter...most are either 2 or 3 inchs in diameter... here is a link to the area of Zane's web site where you can find just such a program and some of them are free..
