amp to 4ohm dvc sub question

i got a 2 channel amp and im going to hook it up to a 4ohm dvc sub,do i hook up the right out put from the amp to one coil and the left to the other coil.if this is the right way would this be a bridged 4ohm load that the amp will see.

thanks for any info you can give me.

Re: amp to 4ohm dvc sub question

The kind of sub and amp and RMS ratings of each would be helpful, but with a DVC sub, you can wire it to 2 or 8 ohms. You will probably want 2. To do this, hook up VC1's positive to VC2's positive. Then do the same with the negatives. Then run VC1's positive to the far positive on the amp channels, and VC2's far negative of the amp channels. This will bridge the amp.

Re: amp to 4ohm dvc sub question

dont run one channel to each vc--you could end up blowin your sub by sending two different signals to it. definately bridge it to 1 channel

Do it the way I said it, that will give that 10L7 a nice supply of power, you may want to be a little careful with your gains though, as Kicker amps are underrated.
