    3 re 10's sealed or 1 12" Se ported?

Sup guys, I've gotta Soundstream Van Gogh 800.5, at 2ohm for the sub channel it pushes 400 rms at 2 ohms. I've currently got an 10w6v2 which is decent. My question is which would have better performance in SQL (please keep in mind)? I need more ouput than the 10w6v2. Can I wire 3 10" RE's in 2 ohm? I understand they willl be underpowered as will the SE. What would be my better option here? I'm going to Vegas in March and with the Group buy going on it made me curious.

    Thaks in advance

Re: 3 re 10's sealed or 1 12" Se ported?

wiring three dual-4ohm voice coils in series will give you 2.67ohms final impedance. that will hurt your 400w plan a bit. parallel is out of the question because it will give you 0.67ohms.
i'm not impressed with the spl of my three jl 10s in a sealed enclosure(@min volume) and would bet a properly ported 12 could outpound me.
i also think the se will work fine with 400watts

my vote is for the one se12

I would go with the single 12SE in a ported box. It will sound good off of 400watts and you can always get a bigger amp down the road.

Here's the third for RE. They are great subs. But those W6's have a clearer sounding bass then the RE's. But have fun man try something new if you have had those subs for awhile.
