    its all about the ohms

    hey guys, im lookin @ buyin 2 12" type R subs

    but,

    im buying from ikesound.com, and it says the sub is

    "4ohm + 4ohm"

    wtf does that mean???:p

    haha can comeone help em out?

    does that mean 4? o 4 or 8?

    or 8?

    Its a dual voice coil woofer which means each coil has an impedence of 4ohms.

    what that means is they are dual 4 ohm voice coils. wired in parallel will give you a 2 ohm load and series will give you a 8 ohm load. hope that helped.

    Yes, but if you are getting the JBL, then I would get the 2 + 2's instead. That way it will run at 2 ohms. It is stable to 1 ohm, but no sense in it if you could run it at 2. Same power at 1 or 2 ohms, no difference.

    i wouldnt run those amps at all, there not that great, get fosgate, jl, hifonics, crossfire, memphis or something namebrand, or even just thats good. peece

    Do you know which JBL we're talking about?? Obviously you don't because they are really good amps, especially for the money.

    i bet MyTrunkSlamz has jensen stuff....1 jl audio 1100 watt amp...seeing as how it's called the 1000/1 and they don't have a 1100 watt amp.....

    hey taylor you know audio stuff why not help me i've got multiple other's helping me, you think 2 DD 3515's can handle 2000wrms power with no problems?? or would i be better off getting a single 9515 or 2 9515's??

    well i'm not very familiar with dd, but one guy is hit 168 with 1 dd 10 with like 4000 watts going to it. so wither way i'm sure what ever setup you go with will be loud, but i reccomend the 9515's if you got the cash flow.

    yeah but there 5 bills a piece and i can 2 3515's for that price that's why i am leaning towards the 3515's just not sure if they can handle 2000wrms in a daily driver.
