    my system

Ive finally made my decison and heres what it is.

    2 12" L7 Kicker Solo-Barics in a sealed enclousure.

I was gonna get a 1200 watt amp and run 600 to each sub but have decided to go with two kicker amps so each sub will have 800 watts to it.

    Will that sound very good??

I wont need to add any 6 by 9's or tweeters will i ?

what is your opinion on this??

well you are gonna need a **** load of mid's and high's to hear stuff other than nasty muffled vocals b/c that is all you will get with no other speaker's. what is your setup other than that are you just running factory h/u and speaker's or what my man?

    keep it thumpin,

im going to get a different head unit but im not sure what kind just yet. After i buy this other stuff i aint gonna have much money left to spend so ill have to wait awhile for a h/u.

im not sure exactly what size the factory speakers are but they are in both front door and rear doors. would you suggest an upgrade on those or keep those and add more too that??

no offense on this, but your an idiot if all you do is buy your bump first, that is a horrible thing to do b/c then your running around with bump and no vocal's or anything. get your new h/u first and upgrade your factory speaker's at the same time. push back the bump man trust me it's worth it to do it that way. spend some real cash on a good h/u and good speaker's then when you add your bump in there you have the complete system and it will thump hard and sound clean. that's just my 2 cents on the subject.

    keep it thumpin,
    adam

unless you drive a new volvo with a built in good system of a VW then your factory speaker's typically **** *** man. i've worked on explorer's, blazer's, montero's, jimmy's, expedition's, wrangler's, xterra's none of them had good enough factory system's to stand up to bass let alone 1600 watts of power man. trust me you need new speaker's and most likely amps running them if you want good sound. and yeah go with a good alpine or pioneer deck. i think anyone on here would agree with me on that point of factory speaker's are never good enough

I'm still using the factory 6x8's in my Mercury Cougar and they work great, I dunno what brand they are, but my Pioneer deh-8something MP has HP Crossovers with the Easy EQ and Sound Focus EQ, so I can have all my mids and highs coming out of my factory 6x8's and mah "bump" coming out of my two MTX 8000 which are having problems at the moment. But I like how it sounds, even though I still wanna put some Kappa Perfect Components in the front.

It's true my buddy has a BIG dodge van with 3 6x9s, 2 6.5in componet speakers all stock...sounds ok but now that the van is old the speakers don't sound that good anymore but they did a few years ago...not all Dodge/Chrysler cars are so lucky....I have a 94 Dodge Shadow 3.0L V6....It's fast but the speakers are SH1T...

Pathfinders have Bose speakers. How could I forget that Nissan Frontiers (new ones) have a 8 inch RF speaker behind the rear seat. I kid you not.
