    could a xxx take 3 premier 12s

    a single 12" XXX powered with 1600 watts(recommended off their site) in 2.5cuft ported enclosure
    1600rms 2500 max
    sensitivity=86db

    vs.
    3 12" pioneer premier TS-W125C/DVC
    the ones everyone seems to have that u can buy for about $70 each
    400rms each/800 max
    times 3= 1200rms/2400max
    sensitivity=89db

    if i could remember the formula for estimating db result i could solve this. i kno you use the sensitivity and the amounts of watts somehow multiplied then add something like 3 db for each additional sub and add 3d if its ported. jmac will know what im talking about.

    ([Sensitivity * (# of subs)]/2.8) + (sqrt[total wattage]) + 3db if ported + 3db if any chrome + 3db if port is painted black + 3db if any stickers on windows - 6db if you don't have fold down rear seats + 1.3406191db if you used magic pixie dust

    you forgot +3db if your car is lowered, +3db if your car has rims, and -[awnser] if you dont have an alarm.

    Jesus christ dude...there IS NO SPECIAL FORMULA that will give anywhere near an accurate measurement. Did you get what was said earlier...it's all in the box. As stated before, 10% product....90% install!!! peace

    silverlude56; ngsm is right. There is no special formula that will get you anywhere close to being accurate. About the best thing to do is pop them both into a box program like WinISD (or bassbox pro6) and look at the response graphs with each setup in their respective boxes......but even that won't be 100% accurate (because of things like cabin gain and power compression and such)

    Water dB Method To See Who's Pimpin' Ride is Louder:

    1.)Put a balloon in the port
    2.)inflate it with water until it expands enough to fill the port area
    3.)bump bump bump rattle bump whizzle bump rattle bump
    4.)Whoever pops the balloon first is louder Yo.

    Doesn't work too well with slot ports, unfortunately...

    unless you stick a weather balloon in there
