Re: 15" Brahma vs. 18" Juggy

i'd pick the juggernaut myself, because i dont particularly care about SQ as much as i do SPL.

the juggernaut is an SPL driver.

    shouldnt repeat everything you read

yes this is true, but the Juggernauts -intended- use was SPL applications. they are not a sound quality driver. there for thats what one i would pick.

Re: 15" Brahma vs. 18" Juggy

Obviously the 18 has more cone area so theoreticly its going to be louder, with both being high end, big number-capable woofers. Personally Id go with the Brahma or even the 18" XXX or 18" MT for more on the SPL side. Even for the 2 you listed, you should have a nice big home for it to play in.

Would you pick a Corvette or a Hummer?

Completely different machines for completely different intended uses. Ask yourself what your intended purpose of your stereo is, this will make the choice between these two subs obvious.

Re: 15" Brahma vs. 18" Juggy

the juggy might not be louder if its in the "wrong setup".

both have alot of potential. honestly i've worked alot with the juggernaut, and the SQ isnt all that great and honestly they get very loud.

but you will hear that for the brahma as well. either or is going to make you happy. plus there resale values are quite high also so if you arent happy you could always switch to the other.

basically this is what its going to come down to (most should agree)......

Brahma very loud but has better sound quality than juggernauts

juggernaut is a little louder, but less SQ.

so you take your pick....... loud with SQ or LOUDER without SQ. to me the juggernaut has more potential to be louder. but its also the drivers you hear about that are "one note wonders" used often in SPL comps.

Re: 15" Brahma vs. 18" Juggy

id personally go with the brahma just for the fact that it will still be loud as hell, and the sq will blow teh juggy away

Re: 15" Brahma vs. 18" Juggy

I agree, the difference in output would only be noticeable when you want to run the system at its max. But the Brahma's imo large advantage in SQ will be noticeable virtually all the time. Id go Jugg for a competition burp system, and Brahma for a music system. Actually Id personally chose an MT for burping I think, but you get my point.
