What's your budget? And do you have a crossover for them? How much power you plan on running?
My budget is 125 for the pair, no crossover, and however much power I would need for the two 8s, 4 tweets, and 2 6x8s...I would like to stick with hifonics!
No offense, but I think you might want to re-think your speaker layout and selection. Where were the 6x8s going?
well, I have a Ford Expy...it has 4 6x8s already...one in each door. I bought better 6x8s for the front, and I wanted to get some bass for the back (hence the 8" subs). The guy I bought it off of already had 4 tweeters in this thing...thats the layout. I would like to hook up the 4 tweets, the 2 6x8s and the 2 8" midbass up to one amp.
Not going to happen. Even a 4-channel wouldn't do......unless you want to start building your passive crossovers, which with the # of drivers you have will get very complicated very quickly.Originally Posted by Milenko515
And I'd ditch the 4 extra tweeters and the 8" rear midbass idea. IMO, it'd sound like poopie. All your midbass would come from behind you (those 6x8's aren't going to pump out too much, atleast nothing compared to 8's). And 4 additional tweeters is just WAY overkill.
ok, well, what would you suggest to do then. My 15 doesnt hit the higher bass notes anymore and I want to hear everything...
I would take those 6x8's and tweeters out and just get a comp set for the front for like $150. there's a few $150 comp sets like RE re6.5's, CDT cl-61a's, and alpine type r's etc.... just choose one and buy them.
I'm seein' more than the average human eyes can see
I live in darkness God please shine light on me
In poverty is where I sleep not closing these,
Ghetto eyes, ghetto eyes ah mine
The only scenery I see that's fascinating to Fly
The shinin' sun, moon, clouds and the stars in the sky
Some heavy heavenly medicated treat me for my,
Ghetto eyes, ghetto eyes, yeah yeah
So many visions put incisions in my stizate ah mind
But Fly gon' take it like a man doin' time for crime
Get behind me, and Fly will lead the line
Using my ghetto eyes, ghetto eyes, yeah yeah
Playa Fly-Ghetto Eyes
ok, that still doesnt solve my bass problem (not hitting higher bass notes)...
A good set of 6.5s with adequate power should fill the gap nicely.
What sub do you have?
RE SE 15, I have another ordered, but it isnt in yet...
Ok...would this work, and in YOUR opinion sound good with the 15"s for low notes and the comps and 8"s for the higher notes?
RE Comp Set. 6.5 and tweeters in the front
RE 8" subs in the back
and two 15" RE SE in the trunk
A good set of 6.5 components up front with plenty dynamat in the doors should do pretty well.. Id just do the subs and spend the money on a good set of comps instead of the front comps + 8s
I wouldn't use the RE 8's for midbass purposes.Originally Posted by Milenko515
The component set with plenty of power and proper install should provide the midbass you're looking for.
