    starting over in the subs department

    well i am still a newb and i blundered into the scene getting a JLw3V2 12 and a xplode amp ive had it for a couple weeks and im tired of it i want more. well to get on with it i have about $350 and still trying to sell the JL if anyone wants it (shame less plug lol) well so what should i get? i want to keep SQ but SPL takes priority and price taken priority over that lol thanks in advance...

    That Xplod amp is junk.
    I have one ( older) its not a power monster like my other amps.
    How much were you lookin for the 12 ?

    $150 plus shipping its beiing sitting in my room for the past week and a half becuz i need my trunk to help my friend move and with finals i havent had time to put it back in

    that Jl should be able to give a decent daily. What kind of enclosure, what kind of install, etc.
    Think about a better box design possibly, definately think about getting a *better*, more reliable amp.

    yea get a new amp and probaly box, keep the sub unless ur set on selling it.

    well i had it in a basic sealed box but i tried making a ported box with the specs that came with the subs but that came out horribly but i heard JL werent that awesome in the spl catagory

    W3v2s certainly aren't SPL subs, but that doesn't mean they can't get decent loud. One guy at this local MECA competition hit 144.0 dB at the dash with the new TL w/ 2 10w3v2s ported running off a 500/1 in this small truck...pretty darn impressive for those 10w3v2s IMO. I'd say just get a new amp and a new box and keep the sub.

    well my sony amp pretty much crapped out on me so i ditched it. i was out looking for a new am when my friend said he had one sittin around i could have so....Its a Soundstream RubiconII 300-2 brand new is it total crap? well if it is itll get me thru until i can scrap enough money to get a good amp
