Which size sub for more SPL?

I have a large car (94 Holden Commodore, probably the equivilant to a same model Chevvy family sedan)
And I currenty have two 15" subs, would 12"s go better or louder, or not?
    Thanks

all things being equal (brand, quality, power handleing, install, etc.) the bigger the sub(s) the more air moved and thus the higher the spl.

    good luck and good listening!

like imral3 said all that counts. it depends on your 15s rms and amps
power pushing them. quality helps ALOT!! so does install..
just because the ones you have now maybe rated high rms
dont mean youll get what you want. if your not happy look at what
you have and whats out there sound wise you like for your budget.
and do want louder spls or sq. big differance!!

yeah more_spl your a ****. NAH just kidding. my car can do about 146 at the window and i can't handle it, my friend who helped me put all of it in re-tuned my amp yesterday with his head about 10"s from my 4 12"s which measered at i think 154 at the cone and i was like how the hell can he handle that?? but to answer this guy's question yes the 15"s will produce more spl in the exact same specs of each setup, typically the 12"s will produce better sound though.

    keep it thumpin,
    adam

I always liked the sound you get from several smaller speakers better then 1-2 big speakers. I myself wouldnt mind have 10 Focal 5" subs. OMG that would be some sweeeet sounding ****.

you learn your woofer and tune it that "big" woofer will systematically destroy a lil driver if you have the space.. all the names i will mention here are all in most peoples "tops" list and their woofers are no smaller than 15"
    1. Mark Elderidge
    2. Richard Clark
    3. Eric Stevens
    4. Earl Wills
    5. Harry Kimura
    6. Wayne Harris the MTX Terminator what started all this mess lol
There is no real order to this list but i think it would be very hard pressed to say that a big woofer sounds bad considering the fact that most of these cars on the list would still dominate today as they are still considered in most everyones tops list with 3 of them in mosts top 5.
