    infinity reference series?

    are these decent subs?

what im lookin for isnt anything crazy, but i want some good bass. im not out to win any competitions, but if i really crank the volume i want to feel it. i was a good 12" sub but nothing at the very top end.

im lookin at the infinity reference 1220's . will these give me what im lookin for? if not...what other subs should i consider?

a 12 isnt necessary, if i can get a good pound out of a 10" sub, like a 10w3 or something similar, thats cool too. based on what iv said, what do you guys recommend? are the 1220's a decent sub?

    Re: infinity reference series?

Get a single 12" Re sub...either the SE, SX, or XXX....depending on your budget and space. Hands down, a XXX 12 with 1500 would knock and be prolly the best, tuned to say, 30-34hz. Any of those Re subs in the 12" or 10" ported would do great....

lol...sorry for the noobness, but SE, SX, XXX ?? can you elaborate on that a bit, ya kind of lost me there.

i got lots of trunk space, and the budget is flexible. i dont want to spend too much but i know someone thats got a pair of the 1220's for sale for a pretty good deal. depending on how decent the subs are of course

what about comparing the JLW0's and the 1220's to a pair of 12" Mtx Thunder 8000s ?

    Re: infinity reference series?

The 1220's are good all around speakers. In a sealed box, they blend in with the music and give it the little extra umphh. They are not really loud subs, but more a lower end SQ sound.

As for the SE, SX, and XXX. They are made by RE audio which is car speaker company in Vegas. They have dealers around the nation but do a lot of business thru direct phone purchases. It you search around you will find a lot of them in these forums. They make some pretty loud subs. I switched from 2 1220's to a 15HC (older model of RE audio) and it's 3 times as loud.

Check out the website are www.reaudio.com.
