    4ohm or 2ohm sub into a JL 500/1 amp?

I am going to replace my 10" sub with a Rockford Fosgate 10" HX2 sub. Power handling is 500W RMS and 1000W max. It is a dual voice coil sub. Now my question is, should I get dual 2ohm or dual 4ohm? If I get dual 2 then I will wire the voice coils in series and get a final impedance of 4ohm. And if I get dual 4 then I'll wire it in parallel for a final of 2ohm. It will be the only sub connected to a JL 500/1 amp. Now since this amp's power rating is a constant 500W RMS in 1.5 - 4ohm, will it matter which sub I get between those two? Please let me know, dual 4ohm or dual 2ohm and state why thanks!

no, it doesnt matter. just as long as the ohm load is between 1.5 ohms and 4 ohms, the 500/1 will be giving out 500 watts. you might want to consider future upgrades or changes though.

go with whichever is cheaper/available at the time.
If i was you though i would go with the dual 2.
That way if you get a different amp you can run it at 1 ohm.
