Icon32 Upgrade from Re8 setup, decisions, decisions...

    hi all....

    Current setup is as follows...

    2002 F-150 supercab

    Panasonic CQ-DF783U head unit
cdt HD62ef comps powered by an older pioneer amp
2 ea re8's in 1 cu tuned to about 33
sub amp is an RF power 350s giving 175w @ 2ohm per channel to the subs

While this setup sounds good, the bass just doesn't do it for me.
I would like to keep all the sq possible, but need it louder and
    more spl.

    I'm thinking maybe a sx 12 with a bx1500d?
    or
    should I wait (how long??) for a xxx 12 with a bx1500d?

I'm assuming in the right enclosure, either of these should kill
the re8 setup I have now. I'm also assuming that an se 12 probably
    wouldn't satisfy me for long.

    Opinions/suggestions?

One 12 will satisfy you. If you get the right one. Check out a JLw7 or a Alpine Type X.

You might run in to space issues in a truck but would sound great if you could make it work.

Re: Upgrade from Re8 setup, decisions, decisions...

if it was ported it would wang.
problems like this arive when it comes to trucks. i know my re10 is 1.2cu ported... so the 12 is gonna be at least 1.7

and you are @ 1 right now? you think you could find the extra space?

by the way. what are you doing with the re8's? you looking to get rid of them? i think id have a need for them.

I got dibs on the re8's if you do upgrade and want to sell them. LMK...one quality 12 would do the trick quite nicely. peace

really, you could even go with 1 10" XXX and about 1500 watt rms. Drop it in a 2-3 cube ported box @30hz....and it'll wang. That is, if you can't fit the proper ported box for a 12. peace

i vote for a 12" SX and a 1000D. andmake sure you. Use up ur Entire back seat. take it all out, and make a 8 cu/ft box. port it. **** a 12" Gget a 15" or a 18". It will rattle ur head to ****. Mine gives me headaches. That will give u anurisms.. cant spell. take some pics of interior I think up crazy *** designs for fords. My buddy has a setup like mine. a Box in the middle. But for 2 12"s. Its on a angle facing up towards him. Kinda like Two truck boxes in a row. But they're bigger than truck boxes. And Angled up higher.

1 XXX 12 would be plenty....even 1500 watts to that sub, ported to somewhere between 30 and 35, oooo, so great. Those are awesome subs, havent heard a bad setup on them yet.
