    alpine subs

i know i've asked this like twice already but it never gets any responses.

has anybody seen/tested/used/own or heard anything about that type x sub? the surround makes it look like it's got some mean xmax...

i'd wanna know how it stacks up against a d2

As far as I know, they came out, then they were then recalled for a defect!

    Re: alpine subs

ive only heard one setup with a d2 and heard 2 different setups of the TYPE x and i think the Type X is alot louder in SQ and SPL but hey it really depends on the setup and car...cuzz the one setup i heard the type x the other sounded alot louder with the ported the sealed......so if u do buy a type x go sealed ull be happy.....i swear man that type X has more bass than ull need lol

ever heard a Type-R setup? I've heard a few in vented/sealed enclosures, sounds pretty good especially for the price.

From what an Alpine dealer on another forum said, all the 12" Type X's were originally shipped with shorted voice coils. But Alpine was being an *** about it, and was going to make the dealer pay the shipping costs to ship the defective subs back to Alpine. So, I wouldn't be suprised if many dealers just sold the defective ones, and then are going to make Alpine cover them under the customer's warranty instead of paying for shipping back to Alpine.

well, if you're going for SQ, why would you want a big box and a lot of power?

what app are we talking about here?
