    Icon32 Which is better? 2-10s or 4 10's?

OK, i hav a Q. WHich do u think is better, runnin 2-10" subs at 200watts a piece or runnin 4-10" subs at 100watts a piece? And if u think i should run 2-10' subs at 200 watts a piece, what subs should i use, 2 pioneer 10" IMPP's or 2 10" Rockford Fosgate Punch Z's?

You wouldn't notice a difference using 2 or 4 because the power requirement is the same. I think it would be better to go with 2 @ 200 watts, because you can use the extra money to get some quality subs, and you wouldnt need as much space. Im not sure if Pioneer is better than Rockford, but maybe someone else does.

Just because I don't say it, don't mean I aint thinkin it.

i hope you are reffering to RMS watts and not max watts. anyway, i think you definately be better of using only 2 RF subs. you will get more bang for your buck. plus they have a better SQ than the IMPP's.

    good luck and good listening!

I like the sound of 4-10" subs as apposed to 2-10" subs,4 cheap tens hit ****ing hard and 2 tens hits ok.I recomend you get the entery level PPI subs they sound good and handle 150 rms each,my cousin bought my three and found one more and they hit very hard,142.8+ db's hard.

Where on earth did you hear this? 2 is better than 4 for SPL?

Is this not a reasonable place to park?

listen the real answer rather than some of this opinionated replies is that in reality the nouise level will be the same in either a 2 or 4 sub setup, with the 4 subs you have more cone which is more surface area which will push more air resulting in higher spl the sq qill eb the same cause yourusing the same subs, i would go with 2 rf subs becuase they can handle a lot of power but push with a little power
    good luck

i recomend that you stay away from the Punch Z's, they're really cheap. Some of my friends have gotten them, and come to me because they worked one day, and the next they didn't. I've got a friend with 4 pyramid 15's with like 200 watts to each one rms, and they would out perform 4-15'' punch z's with their recomended rms

for 200 rms the best RF sub is the regular HE subs. they will run you about 50-100 depending on if you buy from retailer or if you buy online. those subs are 200 rms and 400 peak. 2 10"s with 200 rms a piece will run those subs pefectly, they come in 8 ohm and 4 ohm impedence so it depends on the stability of the amp you get. the pioneer's will hit with a deeper sound though b/c pioneer subs go to a lower hz frequency than almost all RF subs, especially on the entry level subs. i have used both the IMPP's and the HE's as well as HE2's and HX2's. the RF hit harder than the IMPP's but with not as good of SQ in my opinion. that was in my car though. so my recommendation is 2 10" RF HE's in a SEALED box, i can't stress the sealed part of that enough. do not run them in a ported or bandpass for the sake of all that is holy:p .

    keep it thumpin,
    adam
